More trips to the country and other interesting news.

How has your summer been so far? I had a great holiday and a few fine weekends.

I danced with loved ones and lost my Dirty Projectors shirt at the La Pampa Festival.
I spent the best evening in music so far in 2010 at the Schokoladen Hoffest.
I discovered a surprising way to greet an alien life form at the L*Abore.
I got to feel the wrath of the mayor of Friedland at the Jenseits von Millionen.

And I hardly took any pictures, which usually means that I'm having an exceptionally good time.

And it's on. A previously unreleased Petula song has found a home on the Jenseits von Millionen 2010 mixtape. Go and grab "Plukk" and many other good songs over at Rote Raupe. And one song off "Elephant Dresses" can be found on the latest issue of the Finest Noise series. All tape orders via the Petulacamp will get a free copy while supplies last. All digital orders will get a holiday photo.

Two shows are coming up, more are in the making. Stay tuned, there'll be details!

11 SEP 10 Görlitz, Fokus 2010 w/ Jahcoozi, Talking To Turtles and others
24 SEP 10 Hamburg, Reeperbahnfestival w/ everyone, it seems

Travelling.

There are three Petula-flavored weekends coming right up. Please remember. Come by.

10 JUL 10 La Pampa Festival
18 JUL 10 Schokoladen Hoffest
23 JUL 10 L*Abore Festival

You'll get all the info and tickets you need on the websites. The Schokoladen show is free for everyone, so bring all your friends and buy them drinks.

This just in: Summery update.

Finally, an event everyone can agree on: A sunny Berlin evening, the proximity of water, everyone you know and like, the faint drone of the city, the faint clicks of hooves on loop pedals, the clicking of ice cubes in your iced tea and the friendly chatter of Berlin's yacht owners stopping by. Click the image for details or read on and click these other links.

It's Kat Frankie and Petula! It's the Badeschiff! It's summer! It's Wednesday! It's 9 pm sharp!
Come by! Wear speedos! Tourist info says you will have a good time! Forget about your worries for a while and listen to me sing about mine!

Every Sky Must Fall.

There's not that much to say here. It's my other other band. Infernally loud pop music and disco noise to combat your inner taste police. It's not very petulesque, but we'll still play with fellow Froggi mates mOck in Berlin. Come!

UNS! UNS! UNS!

Saturdays are weekends, too.

innen stadt außen welt

Guitar, noise board, toothbrush, train ticket. All I need. Stop by. They say that the show starts at nine. I don't know Munich nine. Might be different from Berlin nine. soft.nerd will play, too. And We vs. Death take me for a ride on the Autobahn. Superexcito!

Happy trails.

The first tiny batch of Elephant Dresses shows has been played. Every single one was especially nice - the friendly choir going astray at the Madame Claude, the Dukes Of Windsor filling in for singers and clappers that had fallen ill at the nbi, and the exploding goodness that is Telekaster at Leipzig's Paris Syndrom. And then the people, and you, and you. Thanks a lot.

Here's a video of Telekaster doing their thing for you. Don't miss them when they're near you. The next Petula show: May 8, Munich.

we might magnetize [live] from telekaster on Vimeo.

Three is a crowd!

The only non-exclusive song on the EP, We'll Become P( )rentheses also offers a taste of the upcoming Elephant Dresses tape, due out on Froggi in two weeks. It's a clicky and clappy song about food and decay, about discipline and love and desperation, about old age and about punctuation. It's a song about everything. It's also online now!

Don't forget to check back tomorrow, when the whole thing, cover and soundmaps included, will be available for free.

More! More!

The Minotaur Miniskirt revelation continues. Here's Funeral Safari.

Also, I Might Be Wrong are giving away a Petula-related remix on their tumblr site to celebrate spring, themselves, delirious bliss and the start of the German leg of their tour with Why?. Get! Play! Enjoy!

A new release, a new beginning.

It's an appetizer, it's a single EP, it's a joint venture, a marketing scheme, a present. It's also a collection of outtakes, something new, something old, leftover songs, brandnew ideas. It's a new Petula EP, brought to you by the friendly folks at Rote Raupe, revealed piece by piece and day by day, available as a whole this Supergood Friday.

The first part is out today, a melancholy heartweight called "Let Us Not Be Terrible People", recorded during winter nights in my tiny studio closet. Three more parts are to come, each of them accompanied by its own beautiful soundmap by Janine Hofmann and Christina Serowski. Enjoy!

Yay, posters!
